If you run out of Peace, it is time to pray for Peace

A Prayer for Peace in the Storm

Heavenly Father, You are the God who speaks peace to the raging seas and commands the winds to be still. As Your Son Jesus calmed the storm with the words “Peace, be still,” we come before You now seeking that same divine tranquility for our troubled hearts and anxious minds. Lord, You have promised in Your Word that You will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on You (Isaiah 26:3). In this moment of turbulence, we fix our thoughts not on the circumstances that surround us, but on Your unchanging character and Your faithful promises. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Prince of Peace, we receive the peace that surpasses all understanding, the peace that You have promised to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Though the storm may rage around us, we will not fear, for You are with us. Your rod and Your staff comfort us as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). Let Your peace flow through every anxious thought, every fearful moment, and every uncertain tomorrow. As You spoke to Your disciples in the boat, speak now to our hearts: “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” (Mark 4:40). Increase our faith, Lord, that we might rest secure in the knowledge that You are sovereign over every storm.

We thank You that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Isaiah 54:17, Romans 8:28). May Your perfect love cast out all fear from our hearts, for fear has to do with punishment, but Your love has made us perfect in Your sight (1 John 4:18). Grant us the grace to be still and know that You are our Father God, to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
